.:Flat, intelligent and hardwearing-X-ident presents the DURA Tag :.

May 10th, 2007
Certified for the first time: Thin flat RFID transponder for the textile and laundry logistics market.
The Duren manufacturer of RFID labels and tickets, X-ident technology launches its newest product; the 0.75 mm flat, flexible RFID transponder DURA-Tag, which was developed specifically for the use in textile and laundry logistics. DURA-Tag takes care of garments and linen goods during the laundry processes of ironing and pressing. This breakthrough in RF technology allows the wearer to experience no discomfort whilst wearing garments containing DURA-Tag, unlike the more traditional "button tag". DURA-Tag is almost indestructible in the harshish conditions. A confirmation is available from the independant research institute in Bonnigheim Germany. DURA-Tag has been certified and approved showing almost a 100 per cent read guarantee after a defined quantity of washing cycles, which corresponded to DIN EN ISO 15797. The RFID tag is available in two forms (circular 30mm and rectangular 42x30mm) and can be applied with a common patch process. The tag can be perfectly used where large amounts of linen goods (bed clothes, towels etc) and garments (costumes, work clothes, uniforms, hospital garments) have to be handled and cleaned.
Industrial laundries, hotels, medical facilities, textile and costumes suppliers have to accomplish a huge task with the handling and cleaning of garments and linen goods. Today RFID technology offers tangible contributions and the real assistance in this area. The small transponder will be applied or sewn into garments and linen goods which will reveal the saved data if required. Therefore the logistic processes for cleaning and rental agencies will be simplified, the controlling will be optimised and for example the fading will be reduced.
However, the integrated transponder called the Hard Tag, button or coin have the substantial disadvantage of being too think, so that during the cleaning process the garments can become stressed and partially damaged. Furthermore, they are inflexible; discomfort can arise due to the position of the hard tag in the garment, which may also increase the possibility of destruction during automatic processes.
The expert in Duren for RFID labels, tickets and tags, X-ident technology offers immediately a transponder, which eliminates the above mentioned problems through its super flat construction of less than one millimetre. The RFID tag, called DURA-Tag will be patched or inserted in the textile and is not disturbed during the cleaning operation. Visually the thin tag does not attract unwanted attention.
The independent research institute in Bonnigheim confirms this high quality and system stability. After a defined quantity of test cycles according to ISO 15797 a nearly 100 percent reading was reached. This result is unique for this kind of construction.
