SME, using its 30 years of experience in the telecommunications market, have developed a new line in outdoor cabinets with IP55 degree of protection. This is a product of contemporary design entirely adapted to modern requirements to telecommunication installations. Complete cabinet design has been carried out accor di ng to the new IEC 61969 standards for telecommunication outdoor cabinets. Its construction is based on combining an elegant design with a very high efficiency in such aspects as thermal or environmental protection.

Since its first original design, one of SME's main targets has been the security of the equipment installed inside, which can be achieved due to the fact that no screw is accessible from outside without opening the door's security front lock. Usage of materials like stainless steel, aluminium-zinc or aluminium in manufacture, ensures that this line meets all the security needs and anti-corrosion demands required for many types of installation.

The series can have EMC protection, ventilations systems, fans, air con di tioning or heat exchangers, plus many other options. SME can offer custom built products or many variations that are currently used throughout the world.

CHARACTERISTICS
•  Double layer cabinet design for thermal isolation with sealed anti thermal-bridges. This design guarantees high protection against the thermal conductivity of the metals exposed to the sun's rays.

•  Completely built in Galvanised steel and Aluminium Magnesium 30 (the aluminium, before being painted in polyester undergoes special chromed treatment), welded with strong rigi di ty and stableness, assuring protection against corrosion and conductivity. Protection against water and dust (IP55) is totally guaranteed, as well as resistance to wind and earthquakes.

•  Door retention arm for maintenance.

•  Access by a unique security point with door having four locking points.

•  Base adaptation for better cable ben di ng and installation on steel beams.

•  Anti scratch stainless steel mounting columns. All cable fixing profiles as well as trays for batteries and inside pieces are made of stainless steel. In this manner it is avoided that any scratch likely to take place during equipment installation or maintenance can become an oxidation point later.

•  Practicable top cover for maintenance. SME cabinet's top cover, apart from performing its function as a thermal insulator, can be used for access inside the cabinet for its maintenance, once the front door's security key lock has been opened.

•  Two options of Heat exchangers are offered.

TECHNICAL FEATURES

STRUCTURE>>>>>>>The cabinet's structure is entirely built in galvanised steel being a welded one body structure heavily built and completely seal tight. Its five fold construction offers a high rigidity and stability. The structure is equipped with fixing points for different equipment supports as well as necessary ground connection for the equipment itself and for the side panels, door, rear lock, upper and lower lids and top cover.

SIDE PANELS>>>>>>The panels are entirely built in Galvanised steel form double lateral side that guaranties the best thermal and mechanical protection of the cabinet. These panels allow air flow in both lateral slots thus reducing substantially heat transmission produced by exterior temperature and solar ra di ation to the cabinet's structure. Panels are fixed with screws and sealing washer to the structure being hidden in the door, in such a way that in order to have access to them it is necessary to have the door open. The panels have a ground connection point.

FRONT DOOR>>>>>>Entirely built in chromate Galvanised steel, fixed with four galvanised steel hinges and has an ergonomic handle with anti-dust lid and simple cylinder with four locking points. The door has an air space and the rear lid that allows you to fix a/c equipment, if required. The external part of the door is equipped with ventilation slots for taking in and expelling the heat exchanger air together with the necessary seal. The door and rear lid are interconnected by a ground connection cable and it has a point for the union to the structure with the correspon di ng ground connection cable.

REAR LOCKING PANEL>>>>>>Entirely built in Galvanised steel. It is fixed to the structure with screws and sealing washer from the inside, avoi di ng in that way any opening attempt of the panel. An air space is formed with the rear lid in order to improve the climatic con di tions of the cabinet. It's equipped with the necessary seals for IP55 and EMC protection. The rear locking panel and its correspon di ng rear lid are connected by a ground connection cable and as a point for the union to the structure with the correspon di ng ground connection cable.

UPPER AND LOWER LIDS>>>>>>The cabinet structure has two lids, one in the upper part and another one in the bottom. Both lids are built in Aluminium Magnesium 30 and have necessary seals for IP55. The bottom lid can be adapted for input cabling requirements.

TOP COVER>>>>>>Upper part of cabinet structure is completed by a practicable top cover, fixed by two tight hinges and a telescopic arm that allows having it in an open position. Its fixing in closed position is done with screws that are only accessible when the door is open. The top cover is designed to confer the cabinet an adequate protection against atmospheric agents and create a double layer to improve the thermal comfort of the cabinet. For this purpose the top cover is equipped in the rear part with ventilation slots which, in combination with slots in cabinet's front part allow constant permanent air flow and improve the thermal comfort. It is constructed in chromate Aluminium Magnesium 30 and has a ground connection point.

FINISH>>>>>>The cabinet is manufactured in a polyester textured powder paint finish of RAL 9002 colour. For enhanced performance cabinet's finish chromed.
